Our afternoon takes us on a cruise on the Darling River, before checking into the Major Mitchell Motel or Darling River Motel for 2 nights.
Day 3 - Wed 19th Oct 2011 (B,MT,L,D)
This morning we collect a local guide who will give an in-depth commentary on the town’s history and current status. Relax over morning tea before continuing on with the rest of the town tour. We break for lunch then travel to the Back O' Bourke Exhibition Centre before returning to our motel.

We have a break at Cobar for morning tea before making our way west along the Barrier Highway, a quick stop at Emmdale Roadhouse, and on to Wilcannia where we again meet the Darling River. Break for lunch at the Wilcannia Golf Club, and travel our last leg to Broken Hill, checking into the Mine Host Motel for a 2 night stay.
Day 5 - Fri 21st Oct 2011 (B,L,D)
A later start to our day after enjoying a leisurely breakfast, we collect a local tour guide for a gossip tour of Broken Hill and Silverton. We break for a BBQ lunch at the famous Silverton Hotel, followed by an afternoon visiting the Living Desert Sculptures, then return to our motel.
Day 6 - Sat 22nd Oct 2011 (B,MT,L,D)
We depart Broken Hill and travel south along the Silver City Highway to our first stop at the Coombah Roadhouse for morning tea. We continue on to the New South Wales/ Victorian border city of Wentworth, the junction of two mighty rivers - the Darling and Murray Rivers. Our afternoon is spent visiting the historic Old Wentworth Gaol. Built in 1880, and last used in 1927, this single story brick gaol was used as a template for gaols built at Hay, Dubbo and the Long Bay gaol in Sydney. We board the coach and travel across the Murray River and on to the Victorian town of Mildura, checking into the lovely Mercure Hotel.
Day 7 - Sun 23rd Oct 2011 (B,MT,L,D)
We leave the beautiful city of Mildura and follow the Murray River upstream through the town of Robinvale and on to Wood Wood, where we break for morning tea. Back on the road we travel to the township of Swan Hill, visiting the Pioneer Settlement for lunch and guided tour. We continue our way along the Murray Valley Highway through Lake Boga and Kerang, arriving into Echuca for an overnight stay at the Quality Inn, Port of Echuca.
Day 8 - Mon 24th Oct 2011 (B,L,D)
This morning we travel to Shepparton, the district famous for stone fruit and home to SPC (Shepparton Produce Company). We call in at the outlet shop before making our way to Yarrawonga situated on Lake Mulwala, where we stop for lunch. We continue on the Murray Valley Highway to the town of Rutherglen, a well known wine district. We stop at Vintara Winery for a taste and talk on the local wine. Once our taste buds are satisfied we move on to the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga, enjoying an overnight stay at the Quality Hotel on Olive.
Day 9 - Tue 25th Oct 2011 (B,L,D)

Our afternoon takes us north passing through the old gold mining town of Sofala and into the wine district town of Mudgee, where we check in at the beautifully appointed Parklands Resort.
Day 11 - Thu 27th Oct 2011 (B,L,D)
This morning we travel to Gulgong visiting the famous pioneer museum, before heading north via Coolah, (the town with the black stump), and through the rich wheat, sheep and beef farming districts.
