Day 1 - (D)

Flights arrive into Darwin Airport where we are met by our Coach Captain for the start of a ten day adventure of Australia’s Kimberley region. Orientation tour of Darwin enroute to The Darwin Central Hotel, for an overnight stay.

 

 

Day 2 - (B,MT,L,D)

This morning we head south along the Stuart Highway travelling through the town of Adelaide River, stopping for morning tea at Hayes Creek Wayside Inn. We continue on through Pine Creek to Edith Falls for lunch. Our afternoon takes us to Nitmiluk N.P. for a guided Gorge Cruise on the Katherine River. Overnight Knotts Crossing Resort,  Katherine.

 

 

Day 3 - (B,MT,L,D)

Heading west along the Victoria Highway, we pass over Victoria River Crossing and travel into the East Kimberley region. We continue on through Timber Creek, we cross the W.A border and on to Lake Argyle Resort Hotel for lunch. From the dam wall we cruise the famous Ord River with expert commentary of the region taking in the sunset over the Carr Boyd Ranges and onto Lake Kununurra to check in to our accommodation at Kununurra Lakeside Resort for 2 nights. .

 

 

Day 4 - (B,L,D)

An early start for half the group this morning, arriving at Kununurra Airport, for a flight over the huge and majestic water storage area of Lake Argyle. Fly over world heritage listed Bungle Bungle Range, then over the Argyle Diamond Mine before returning to Kununurra airport to meet up with the rest of the group for a day trip to Wyndham. We climb the Bastion Range which rises 330 metres above sea level with stunning views of the Five Rivers and the Cambridge Gulf. We visit the historic Wyndham Port before we lunch at the Wyndham Hotel. We head back to Kununurra via the Zebra Rock Gallery (a unique rock pattern only found in this area). Return to Kununurra Lakeside Resort.

 

 

Day 5 - (B,L,D)

Second half of our group departs for their flight over the Bungle Bungles. The rest of the group leaves Kununurra by coach and joins their fellow passengers from the morning flight for a ground tour of the Argyle Diamond Mine. The Argyle diamond Mine is the world’s largest supplier of naturally coloured diamonds in the world and home of the famous and rare Pink diamond. After lunch we parallel the Durack Range to the Kimberley Hotel at Halls Creek for an overnight stay. .

 

 

Day 6 - (B,L,D)

We hit the Great Northern Highway this morning through the open grasslands of the cattle stations to Fitzroy Crossing. We lunch at the Fitzroy River Lodge, stretch our legs and then continue out to Geikie Gorge on the Fitzroy River. View the freshwater crocodiles and the abundant bird life before we head back to our accommodation at the Fitzroy River Lodge.

 

 

Day 7 - (B,L,D)

Today we head west to the township of Derby, home of the Boab Tree and the first town settled in the Kimberley. We travel the Gibb River Road to Windjana Gorge a truly beautiful and peaceful area, where you can observe the freshwater crocodiles along with the bird life within the gorge. We board the coach for Derby to check into King Sound Resort  or Boab Inn for an overnight stay.

 

 

Day 8 - (B,L,D)

We take time to see Derby this morning before heading towards the pearling town of Broome, where we call in at Willie Creek Pearl Farm for an informative talk and a guided boat tour of the oyster beds. After we have given the credit card a workout at the showroom, we travel to Broome for a town tour before we check in at the Oaks Resort Broome for a 2 night stay.

 

 

Day 9 - (B,D)

Today is a free day – relax, or take the opportunity to shop or wander the streets to take in the history of this pearling town. The Mecure inn is situated close to the main centre of town. In the afternoon we board the coach and travel to the famous Cable Beach (depart 4pm) for a sunset camel ride then head back to our accommodation for dinner.

 

Day 10 - (B)

Our last day is spent with a leisurely breakfast before we are transferred to the airport where we say our goodbyes and make our way to our respective flights home. A sensational tour that has left no stone unturned and includes absolutely everything.
