Day 1 - Sat 4th June 2011 (L,D)

We depart Roma St Busbay, Brisbane, at 9am and travel along the Cunningham Highway, past the rich fertile crop growing region of the Lockyer Valley.  We climb the Great Dividing Range, arriving in Warwick for lunch.  Departing Warwick we break at Inglewood, the hub of the olive industry and renowned producers of sheep, cattle, timber, lucerne and grapes.  Our day concludes at Goondiwindi, where we check in at Best Western Ascot Lodge Motor Inn, for a three night stay in 4 star comfort.

Day 2 - Sun 5th June 2011 (B,MT,L,D)

This morning we visit a famous Australian Horse Cutting property run by Lori and Robert Mackay.  We learn about the skills in horse cutting and see how they work their beautiful horses.  We head  back in to town for a guided tour of the newly restored Victoria Hotel then hear the history of Gunsynd, right from the forming of the syndicate, to his famous racing history.  This tour ends with lunch and cool refreshments in the best seat in Goondiwindi!  Our afternoon takes us to a commercial lamb feed-lot, where we are given an insight into supply chain management and direct branding and workings of the farm.

Day 3 - Mon 6th June 2011 (B,MT,L,D)

This morning we collect a local guide and take a gossip tour of Goondiwindi showcasing its agriculture, water and fashion.  First we visit a working cotton farm (subject to weather conditions) to observe the cotton picking process.  We move on to Heritage Water Park for a lovely damper morning tea, followed by a tour of Goondiwindi Cotton, a fashion house icon.  Learn how the cotton is processed from the paddock through the supply chain to the finished product.  We visit Customs House gardens for a lovely `Blue Ribbon’ sandwich lunch followed by a tour through Customs House. We wind down our afternoon visiting the famous Gunsynd Statue, and the beautiful stain glass windows at the Anglican Church as well as the history at Goondiwindi’s cemetery.

Day 4 - Tue 7th June 2011 (B,MT,L)

We bid ‘Gundy’ good-bye and head along the Gore Highway bound for Millmerran where we break for a cuppa and discover the murals around the town depicting the pioneering history.  We continue on to Toowoomba visiting the craft and chocolate shops at Highfield before enjoying lunch with a view at the Blue Mountain Hotel then descend the Cunningham Ranges back into Brisbane.
