Day 1 - Sunday (MT,L,D)
Departing from Roma Street, Brisbane City we travel south through the picturesque Tweed Valley stopping for morning tea at Plantation House. We continue south along the coast to Yamba at the mouth of the Clarence River for lunch. Back on the Pacific Highway we pass by Grafton and make our way through Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie. Built where the ocean meets the Hastings River, this town has a stirring history from the earliest days of European settlement in Australia. Today, the town still has many tangible reminders of that period. We overnight at the Quality Sails Resort, Port Macquarie.
Day 2 - Monday (B,L,D)
This morning we leave beautiful Port Macquarie heading south; our first stop for the day is at Karuah, for our morning tea break and leg stretch. We continue on the Newcastle Freeway arriving at Gosford for lunch. We then travel to the beautiful Sydney northern beaches, arriving at the luxurious 4 star Quality Hotel Sands for our 4 night stay.
Day 3 - Tuesday (B,L,D)
What better way to start your sizzling Sydney experience than with a drive through some exclusive areas of Sydney such as Sylvania and Sans Souci, then onto La Perouse and the Botany Bay National Park. Continuing our orientation we head to Coogee and embark on a private cruise on the magnificent Sydney Harbour. Sit back, relax and enjoy the splendour of one of the most stunning harbours in the world. Listen to an informative commentary and cruise past the exclusive suburbs, home to Sydney’s rich and famous, whilst enjoying a seafood buffet lunch.
Day 4 - Wednesday (B,L,D)
Today we tour one of the world’s best known Beaches - Bondi Beach, then take in the breathtaking views from The Gap at Watson Bay, the site of Sydney’s worst maritime tragedy. Next we head off through the exclusive harbour side suburb of Rose Bay to the icon of Sydney – The Opera House – before arriving at glamorous Star City Casino. We lunch at the Garden Buffet before taking our seats at the Lyric Theatre, let us entertain you as you experience an internationally acclaimed production at Sydney’s premier entertainment venue.
Day 5 - Thursday (B,L,D)
For a change of scene we swap the hustle and bustle of the big city for the scenic and serene Blue Mountains. We visit the spectacular Echo Point look-out before taking a ride on the Scenic Railway descending into the Jamison Valley, then a short bush walk before returning to the top via the Cableway. Enjoy lunch at Australia’s first revolving restaurant, the Skyway Restaurant with magnificent views over the Jamison Valley and Three Sisters. This afternoon we take a drive along cliff tops around Leura and Katoomba before returning to sea level in the northern suburbs.
Day 6 - Friday (B,L,D)
Say goodbye to Sydney today as we travel to the Hunter Valley to visit the famous Hunter Valley Gardens. Learn about the history and significance of each garden with commentary from one of the knowledgeable guides on our exclusive train tour through this picturesque environment. Enjoy lunch in the Garden Terrace Café overlooking the Oriental Garden before continuing on the New England Highway, passing through Scone and Tamworth and arriving into Armidale for an overnight stay at the Country Comfort Armidale.
Day 7 - Saturday (B,L)
Travelling north from Armidale we pass through Guyra, Glenn Innes and on to Tenterfield for a cuppa and leg stretch. We cross the border at Wallangarra into Queensland and past the grape growing districts of Ballandean and the stone fruit and apple growing areas of Stanthorpe and The Summit. The decent from this cool climate is obvious as you travel down to the ‘Rose and Rodeo’ city of Warwick. We lunch at the Palace Hotel and then depart via the Cunningham Ranges for Brisbane.
