Hunter Valley Gardens buggy tour
Day 1 – Tuesday (D)Fly into Sydney to be welcomed by our Coach Captain, a local in the area, who may be with us for our 6 days. Sit back and relax while we take a short journey to view the Opera House, St Mary’s Cathedral, Parliament House, The Treasury, The Rocks Area and Darling Harbour, before we check-in to the Sovereign Inn Hotel on the North Shore, for a 5 night stay.
Day 2 – Wednesday (B,L,D)
Today we tour one of the world’s best known beaches, Bondi Beach, then the
breathtaking views from The Gap at Watsons Bay, the site of Sydney’s worst
maritime tragedy. Then it’s off through the exclusive harbour-side suburb of
Rose Bay on to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, providing one of the best vantage points
in Sydney. Then we head to Star City Casino for lunch and a show; let us entertain
you as you experience an internationally acclaimed production at the Lyric Theatre
(please note that shows are subject to performance scheduling).
Day 3 – Thursday (B,L,D)
Drovers Camp
This morning we take an interesting tour of Sydney’s Mounted Police, formed in 1825, which is even older than the Canadian Mounties! There are 30 fully trained horses and we are guided by a member of the Mounted Police through the stable complex of Redfern, which incorporates an exhibition of Police Horse training, vaulting displays, and a brief history of the role of the Mounted Police. After lunch we visit the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute where a senior member of staff will introduce you to the history of the Institute and explain, in basic terms, the overall direction of the research being conducted. We are then divided into smaller groups, and one of the scientists guides us through some of the research laboratories.
Day 4 – Friday (B,L,D)
Today we visit the Hunter Valley to visit the famous Hunter Valley Gardens. See the gardens in comfort and style on a guided Buggy Tour, where you will be taken on an interactive 25 minute, continuous tour around the gardens, to learn about the history and significance of each garden with commentary from one of the knowledgeable guides. We board the coach and travel to Drovers Camp Restaurant to enjoy a camp oven lunch whilst enjoying the floor show by “The Drover” on guitar, accompanied by his famous singing cattle dogs, “The Fleabag Trio”.
Sydney Harbour Cruise
Day 5 – Saturday (B,L,D)Today we travel through some exclusive areas of Sydney such as Sylvania and Sans Souci, then on to La Perouse and Botany Bay N.P. We then travel into the city via Maroubra and Coogee where we will board our vessel for a cruise on the magnificent Sydney Harbour. Unwind, relax and enjoy the splendour of one of the best harbours in the world listening to an informative commentary, cruising past the exclusive suburbs, home to Sydney’s rich and famous, whilst enjoying a seafood buffet lunch
Sydney monorail
Day 6 – Sunday (B)We start our day with a visit to Woolloomooloo Wharf, Garden Island Naval Dockyard, through exclusive Potts Point and Kings Cross. Ride the Monorail to obtain a birds-eye view of Sydney and all the attractions of Darling Harbour. Gliding above the streets of Sydney, the Monorail offers scenic links to shops, restaurants, and museums. We are then transferred to the Sydney airport for our afternoon flight home.
