Footlights Theatre Restaurant

Rockhampton

Day 1 (D)

Early departure travelling north to the Capricorn Coast, arriving and checking in at the beautiful Capricorn International Resort for 4 nights.  Set on 20km of secluded coral reef coastline, the resort offers something for everyone. The Resort’s facilities include two international golf courses and stylish dining concepts.  You could also choose to laze around in the sunshine with a refreshing cocktail. The Resort has one of the largest freshwater pools in the South Pacific.

Day 2 (B,MT,L,D)

Today we cruise through the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the largest heritage listed area in the world.  Our full day cruise begins with morning tea served on arrival at Great Keppel Island, then we transfer to one of the glass bottom boats for a Coral Viewing and Fish Feeding Tour along with an informed commentary from our expert crew.  Enjoy some free time on the island before re-boarding to enjoy lunch whilst cruising around the islands.  Return to Capricorn Resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 (B,L,D)

This morning take the coastal scenic route through Emu Park to the Singing Ship.  We continue on to Koorana Crocodile Farm, a commercial farm and home to over 3000 salt water crocodiles.  Enjoy a fascinating insight and tour of a commercial farm, not your everyday tourism theme park.  We then visit Footlights Theatre Restaurant for lunch followed by a one hour top class, comedy variety show.

Day 4 (B,L,D)

Today we travel to Rockhampton for a tour of the historic buildings and visit to heritage listed Botanical Gardens, regarded as one of the best gardens in regional Australia, and hold several excellent specimens of palms, cycads and ferns as well as a zoo.  Enjoy a picnic style lunch before discovering the rest of Rockhampton’s fine public and private buildings, including the Customs House, old Post Office, Cathedrals and banks, that are constant reminders of the city with an exciting background. Six bull statues represent the main breeds of the area and are situated throughout Rockhampton.  We head out to show you the famous sale yards at Graceville, the hub of the Beef Capital.

Day 5 (B)

Sadly, time has come to leave the luxury surrounds of Capricorn Resort and beautiful Capricorn Coast.
