Country Hospitality
Peanut Van, Kingaroy
Day 1 – Friday (MT,L,D)
Depart from your choice of pick-up point and head north stopping at Gympie Duck Ponds for morning tea. We then continue on travelling through the South Burnett’s wine growing region to Moffatdale Ridge Winery for a fabulous Tuscan Style Long Lunch with Opera performer. Our afternoon takes us to the Kingaroy Kitchen, which is owned and operated by the Endeavour Foundation as a fundraising venture. We are treated to a guided tour of the operations which produce a fine foods selection of old-fashioned chutneys, marmalades, jams and biscuits, as well as helping people with disabilities. Overnight Pioneer Lodge Kingaroy.
Day 2 – Saturday (B,L)
A trip to Kingaroy would not be complete without a visit to the Peanut Van for an opportunity to purchase from a selection of sweet or savoury peanuts. We continue on to Captains Paddock Winery for the Grape Adventure Tour, to learn of the life- cycle of the vines, different grape varieties and the wine making process - taste the wines and enjoy the views. Our afternoon takes us to Pottique, a unique collection of country crafts, antiques, stoneware pottery and lavender farm. We make our way home travelling via the Blackbutt Range and Kilcoy.
