Day 1 – FRIDAY (D)
Arrive in Perth for a brief orientation tour before we check-in at the Ambassador Hotel for a 2 night stay.
Day 2 – SATURDAY (B,MT,L,D)
This morning discover the delights of the Swan River from Perth to Fremantle as we cruise and listen to expert commentary whilst enjoying an on-board cuppa. Enjoy lunch at Cicerellos, a local famous for its fish and chips before exploring the colourful, vibrant and bustling historic Fremantle markets. On our return journey to Perth, we visit Kings Park & Botanic Garden.
Day 3 –SUNDAY (B,L,D)
Depart for Geraldton via New Norcia, home to a community of Benedictine Monks and beautiful Spanish architecture. We then travel to Coomberdale’s Wildflower Farm before travelling on the wildflower trail to our overnight destination being the Hospitality Inn at Geraldton.
Day 4 – MONDAY (B,L,D)
This morning we take a short tour of Geraldton, passing the HMAS Sydney Memorial and the Francis Xavier Church. We then move into the southern edge of the Murchison Basin, visiting the historical mining town of Northampton, and then on to the coastal gorges Red Bluff. Walk on the wild side visiting Rainbow Jungle regarded as Australia’s most beautiful parrot habitat before checking into the Kalbarri Edge Resort for an overnight stay.
Day 5 - TUESDAY (B,L,D)
Departing Kalbarri we head to the river gorges to see the magnificent wildflowers at Hawks Head then head south passing the picturesque holiday resort of Port Denison. Some spectacular sighting of the wildflowers will be seen as we travel through Eneabba & Jurien Bay. A visit to The Pinnacles at sunset is a highlight of the day before we check-in at the Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes.
Day 6 – WEDNESDAY (B,L,D)
This morning we head via Gingin to Wave Rock, one of Australia’s most incredible landforms. Geologists believe it has taken 2700 million years to take on its wave-like character. We continue on and check-in to the Hyden Motel.
Day 7 – THURSDAY (B,L,D)
Today we head east to the mining town of Kalgoorlie known as the City of Gold. We travel the Golden Mile to view the massive pit before we check-in to the Railway Motel for a 2 night stay.
Day 8 – FRIDAY (B,L,D)
Today we travel from exploration to exhilaration at the Mining Hall of Fame, watch a gold pour and take a tour underground. After lunch we encounter the golden tale of discovery through the tracks of time at the popular Kalgoorlie Museum.
Day 9 – SATURDAY (B,L,D)
Travelling south through the mining town of Norseman, we visit Cape le Grand N.P. to see the beautiful Bay of Isles. We then take the scenic coastal loop round into Esperance where we check-in at the Comfort Inn Bay of Isles for an overnight stay.
Day 10 – SUNDAY (B,L,D)
This morning we take in the sights of Esperance including the salt-tolerant Pink Lake before travelling through the Stirling Ranges. Enjoy lunch at the fascinating Yongergnow Mallee Fowl Centre, then continue on to Albany checking into the Dog Rock Motel for a 2 night stay.
Day 11 – MONDAY (B,L,D)
We start our day with a visit to The Gap and Natural Bridge then the award winning heritage attraction of Whale World where we also have lunch. View the beautiful scenery at the wind farm, visit Mt Clarence Memorial, then move on to Mt Romance and the Sandalwood Factory.
Day 12 – TUESDAY (B,L,D)
Today it’s off to visit the Valley of the Giants and the wonderful tree top walk approximately 50 metres above the ground, then on to the Bi-Centennial Tree via Beedalup Falls which at this time of the year should have a steady flow of water over its gradual 100 metre fall. We then head through the Karri trees back to the The Pemberton Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13 – WEDNESDAY (B,L,D)
This morning’s drive will take us to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Southern & Indian Oceans meet. We visit the Mammoth Cave, to see spectacular formations including the Karri Forest flowstone which resembles the unique trees of the region. The drive from Augusta takes us to the heart of Western Australia’s wine growing area. Stopping at the premium Watershed Wines we have a cellar door wine tasting experience before enjoying our lunch, then on to the Margaret River Chocolate Company before checking into the Australis Motel for an overnight stay.
Day 14 – THURSDAY (B,L,D)
Leaving Margaret River we call into the village of Cowaramup to visit the Candy Cow for a fudge and nougat indulgence. Cape Lavender is next on the list for a taste of their premium Lavender wines, followed by a drive out to Cape Naturaliste area via the stunning Canal Rocks. We break at the coastal town of Busselton for lunch before heading north to the Forest of Tuart, a tree unique to this area. Passing through Fremantle we make our way to Miss Maud’s Swedish Hotel.
Day 15 – FRIDAY (B)
Enjoy an early breakfast before being transferred to the airport for our flight back home.
